263. Doodles and Zentangle

Ink Posted on August 13, 2023 19:26

As a stepping stone to get back into drawing I figured something light and easy to do, that’s not very time consuming was needed. And so I made those tiny little circles to fill with whatever pattern I come up with at the time. After researching I found out they actually have a name – they are Zentangles! Well some of them are anyway. There’s rules around Zentangles (patterns should not be actual recognizable objects like strawberries or flowers), but there’s no rules when it comes to my doodles. Whatever hits me at the time goes! I did have quite a lot of fun with these while I was on vacation and they ended up to be quite the collection of zentangles and patterns.

252. Cats in Ink

Ink Posted on January 7, 2022 00:56

Catching up Cats! Another batch I seem to have accidentally skipped when posting here. I started with filling one page with cats in my sketchbook on the 13th of March 2019 and then continued at a trip to a local café the day after on the 14th March 2019 I brought ink and a sketchbook and have had so much fun with drawing cats.

244. Cats, while waiting at the mechanics

Ink Posted on November 6, 2019 15:48

Yesterday it was time for the annual checkup for my little Kia Picanto. It needed summer tires changed to winter tires too, so I drove off knowing it might take a while getting all that fixed at the mechanics. I am happy I brought all my drawing equipment, especially the ink that I am really starting to fall in love with. With an audio book and a cosy corner with a chair and a small table at the mechanics I spend hours waiting, never being bored as I worked on these two cat drawings.

242. Stolen

Ink Posted on November 11, 2018 00:44

Yesterday I watched a few artists
presenting their work in YouTube videos and I felt so inspired by artists
like Mary
Doodles
, M.D.
Campbell
and James
Burke
.
They are incredibly creative and have their own style, which is not necessarily
super realistic.

I decided to use random themes for my
ink drawings, so I grabbed my old Danish vocabulary book and closed my eyes to
chose a completely random word as reference for my challenge. It was great fun.
I ended up with “Stolen”.

241. Ink sketches

I found opportunity to combine practicing plein air and practicing sketching buildings two times last week. Once in the heart of my city and once in my Mom’s backyard.

74. Silver Candlestick

I have wanted to understand metal and all it’s crazy reflections for a long time. This thing seemed to be the perfect thing to practice on. I mixed pencil, ink, watercolor and a bit of digital painting in PhotoShop to get to this result.
