259. Annas Unicorn

My niece LOVES unicorns. I had a crazy idea on what to gift her. If I wanted to carry this out though I was on a serious time crunch. So I called my Mom asking her if she would like to come join and help me get it done. She went YES! She is such a rockstar <3 Soon we went to work. We had a quick sketch of my idea and a pile of fabrics so we both worked from dawn till dusk and then some for 6 days to turn a fleeting idea into something real:

Upscaling the sketch to create pattern pieces, drawing and cutting pattern from taped together printer paper, selecting suitable fabrics, pinning, cutting, ironing, placing the pieces, sewing and embroidering.

And in the end we had created this applique art work. “Annas Unicorn”. I absolutely adore the result. Thank you so much Mom for helping me create this. It was great fun working together and a wonderful day when we gifted the finished quilt to Anna for her 4th birthday 🙂
